Well hello there!

Who am I?

Hi, my name is Jordan.

I am 18 years old & most definitely an ambivert

Likes: dogs, eating plants, morning markets, the ocean, reading, secondhand stores, TedTalks, hiking, seeing new places and meeting new people, trying my best to live zero waste, drinking tea, painting, challenging myself, bananas, Velma my VW camper, attempting to surf, talking to passionate people.

Dislikes: negativity, inequality, close-mindedness, mushy pears, ignorance.

Desperate to inspire, challenge and enthuse anyone willing to listen, to try and reconnect with themselves, their community and the environment.

why?

Okay so this project has been brewing within me for a couple years now and when I started the Gippsland Girls Network this was more of the concept I was going for but, admittedly, I was too scared and didn’t think people would be interested.  However, here you are now, reading this.

I truly believe that deep down everyone wants to make a difference; to positively influence something – or at least in my idealistic, cosmopolitan, super green grass world, they do hahah! (reading over that last sentence I reminded myself of that girl at the end of Mean Girls hahahaha!)

"I wish that I could bake a cake made out of rainbows and smiles,

and we'd all eat it and be happy"

How DO we create change and positively influence things? I want to tap into that – make people ACT on the things they want to change, so we can all be part of this global reorientation towards a more just and sustainable planet.

I want to encourage people to become aware of themselves and their power to create change. Every single person reading this right now comes from a place of privilege, as you are either reading this on a mobile, laptop or tablet device. You have access to information, petition websites, platforms where you can share information, online banking,

I want to empower people to be fearlessly, unapologetically aware and passionate about themselves, their community, humanity and the environment.

WHEN?

Every day you can choose to embrace Cool to Care’s ethos; smile to a stranger, #take3forthesea, join a Boomerang Bag community, try and reduce your meat consumption, take your bike instead of the car, sign a couple Amnesty International petitions that you're passionate about, take 10minutes to call your Granny, draw or paint, meditate, go outside and plant something, or just go outside with your shoes off, look up, and watch the clouds drift by!

Stop thinking negativity is cool or that doing stuff and getting involved is uncool. I promise that as soon as you stop worrying what other people think of you, you start being yourself and not just a mould of society; you get involved in your community and the world around you. You are going to be glowing with happiness and positivity and growth… I can almost promise it!

We are here on this magical planet for such a short amount of time that wasting a day actively choosing to be negative or not engaging with things or people that make us happy seems a bit silly.

Every single day we make so many decisions – some that have become part of our routine - i want you to reflect on these and identify whether you are living a life that corresponds with your values, morals and beliefs. In order to change the world, your world and the world of everyone around you, it starts with YOU. Every day

i think that sums it up for now
